Floor Trendz would like to wish you a very happy holiday season! We hope that you have a safe and enjoyable time with your friends and family.
Doing commercial flooring in Calgary, we are owned and operated within this great city. Consequently, we feel both honoured and privileged to be able to serve the families and small businesses within the region of Southern Alberta.
We would also like to take this opportunity to thank you for all of your support throughout the year. Floor Trendz looks forward to sharing our passion for floor coverings with you again in the new year!
But in the meantime, we’d like to share a few tips for keeping your floors protected this holiday season. The holidays are a time for family, friends, and fun. But they can also be a time when your floors take a beating. Here are five tips to help you keep your floors protected during the holidays.
This will help to protect your floors from dirt, snow, and other debris that your guests will inevitably end up dragging into your home. Just a simple welcome mat will do the trick. You don’t need to get fancy with it, it’s just going to get dirty anyway.
The longer spills sit, the more damage they can do to your floors. By being prompt with your cleaning response, you can avoid stains and blemishes on your floors.
Too much water can cause wood floors to warp, and chemicals can damage vinyl flooring. The general principle at play here is: moderation. Excessive amounts of anything is never a good idea. Use your own discretion and common sense.
In addition to being slippery, water can cause pets and children to slip on the floor. And these falls and trips can end up leaving noticeable scratches, markings, and abrasions on your hardwood floors. So if possible, keep children and pets away from any wet flooring until it has dried for the sake of your floors, as well as the safety of your pets and children.
Furniture that is scraped or dragged across a surface will damage a floor over time, so always place pads under the legs of heavy pieces. This is especially important for those hard but delicate surfaces, as some of them can be quite costly to repair.
